What's in a Name

Every web site has one thing in common, a domain name. However, each name is unique to the topic of the site or blog. All together, the name should be both human and machine friendly. Therefore, the name has to incorporate three three things: easy to remember, tells you what the site is about, and be search engine friendly.

Creating the name is a process unto itself, separate but related to the site's content. It needs to be shore, simple, and informative. However, combining the three is a science that requires imagingation and thought. It is all in timing which can be quick or slow.

Once the topic of the site has been researched and thought out, it is time to brainstorm potential domain names. It begins with the general topic and a few key terms to describe it. This thought process is the roadmap to landing a great domain name. With obvious names becoming short in supply, the research has become more challenging. With a little thought and imagination, names can be found.
